I am Amber Rice-Maynor, one of your Tennessee State Directors for America’s Cover Miss and Cover Boy USA.  I am 27 years old, married and the mother of a two very loving and energetic little boys Landon who is 6 and Brayden who just turned 1.  Our family lives in the Chattanooga area and was employed at a large Title Company as a Closing Agent for the last several years until I decided to take pageants on as a full time job as well as being astay at home mommy.

I’m very excited about the America’s Cover Miss and Cover Boy USA because as a child I competed in pageants from the age of 2 until I was 13 years old.  It was a wonderful experience, full of great memories, friends and a great bonding experience with my parents.  It was like going on vacations all the time and visiting all my pageant friends.  The experience was very positive for me because it builds a young girls confidence to be in front of others and able to speak in public as a professional career woman.

I entered more pageants than I can remember but when I was 9 years old, I competed in the National America’s Cover Miss and Cover Boy USA and placed in the top 15 in beauty, won swimwear, proam and placed 1st runner-up in my age division with over 100 girls in my age group.  It was a weekend that little girls dream of while in pageants.  I later had the privilege of judging the National America’s Cover Miss and Cover Boy USA in Orlando, FL in 2001.  It was very exciting to still see the enthusiasm that has stayed with America’s Cover Miss and Cover Boy USA and that’s why I am going on my third year as the Tennessee Director.

I hope to be seeing many of you this year and we are already preparing GREAT surprises for YOUR State Pageant in Cookeville, TN the last weekend in April, 2007.  I will be more than happy to assist you in any questions, thoughts or concerns for your child and the upcoming year.

America’s Cover Miss and Cover Boy USA

Dear Contestants and Parents,

 My name is Paul Hamby, one of your Tennessee State Directors for America’s Cover Miss and Cover Boy USA.  We are so excited to have the chance to direct America’s Cover Miss and Cover Boy USA for the State of Tennessee.  I have lived in the Chattanooga Area for 43 years, where I work for a major Hospital for the last 18 years.  I attended The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.  I have been involved with pageants for the last 15 years both as a judge andauditor.  I have judged many pageants on the local and national level.  The pageants I’ve judge consist of Georgia’s Cover Miss and Cover Boy, Mrs. Georgia, Preliminaries for Miss Tennessee and many other pageant systems of all ages.  I have served as a judge and auditor for the Tennessee State Junior Miss Program and many of their local programs.  I really enjoy watching the confidence that the girls and boys receive throughout the pageants I’ve judged.

We have got so many new great plans for the State finals for the Tennessee Cover Miss and Cover Boy USA.  We plan on giving a lot of cash and prizes this year and most of all, make sure that as a contestant that you leave the pageant with a lot of memories.  We want to make this more than just a competition, but go away with some new friends and a memorable experience.  We plan on being THE pageant that gives more cash and prizes than any other pageant system in the State of Tennessee.  You will see many new things on the website to get your input.  We want to get the parents and contestants more involved with THEIR pageant such as:  surveys, choices of things to see at State and any way that we can make your pageant experience more enjoyable.

One main reason for moving the State Finals to another city is to help lower the cost for the parents and contestants.  We want everyone to have the chance (as high as gas has gotten) to afford their child to participate in one of the most rewarding experiences I believe they have.  As you read our brochure, you will see that we are giving $75.00 Cover Miss Bucks to attend the State Finals to all of the preliminary over-all winners, and a free night hotel to anyone that sells more that 350 sponsor tickets.  This will give even more contestants the opportunity to come to State Finals and make new pageant friends in the 3 days of fun we have planned for everyone (including some great fun for moms and dads).  So, we hope to see you soon at the preliminaries across that state and in April, 2009 at the State Finals.  I look forward to working with the current State winners and the past.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at:  tncovermiss@bellsouth.net or call us at:  423-544-9552.  Be sure to check our web site often, since we will be adding more preliminaries and also putting questionnaires to answer after you have competed in one of our preliminaries.
